My name is Garry, and Laguna Elite Wellness exists because of a road that almost ended very differently for me.
Back in 2019 I started studying massage therapy on the side while running a completely different business. I loved it from the beginning, the anatomy, the technique, the way a good session could change how someone felt in their own body. Then COVID hit and those plans got shelved along with a lot of other things that year. Life moved on and I kept running my business, figuring the massage training was something I’d get back to eventually.
Eventually came sooner and harder than I expected. In 2024 I was smashed from behind while riding my motorcycle. I walked away with a brain injury, two fractured bones in my neck, an open fracture in one arm, a torn ligament in the other arm, a torn meniscus in my knee, a broken finger, a fractured left big toe, and bruising across my back, shoulder, and shin that took weeks just to fade. Five surgeries followed, two of them on my knee alone. The recovery was long and there were stretches where I genuinely didn’t know how much function I’d get back, or whether my body would ever move the way it used to.
What pulled me through was physical therapy and massage work, done consistently and done right. I watched my own range of motion come back week by week and I understood something I hadn’t fully grasped before the accident: this isn’t a luxury service, it’s a tool that can rebuild a person.
So I went back to massage school, this time with a lot more at stake and a body that wasn’t cooperating on some days. I finished the program anyway, got licensed, and decided this was going to be the rest of my work. Not a side project. The whole thing.
Laguna Elite Wellness is built around that experience. We focus on injury recovery and post-surgical rehabilitation, not spa relaxation. Every therapist on our team came through massage school, and several bring years of hands-on clinical experience to sessions.
I built this team the way I wish someone had built mine when I was staring down a knee that didn’t want to bend anymore.
